way to go buddy, two hits!
Here are the results of game 1. FYI, Because of the low score, not all birdies got hits so their names may not appear. Bye bye. CAGs VS. ZONS, BATTLE OF THE GREAT RIVER BIRDIES, GAME 1. Game 1 scoring started early with the CAGs striking 1st with Picasso scoring when Casey hit a triple. Zon’s Stubby and Asha would get on base in the 1st but were left stranded. The CAGs would load the bases in the 2nd inning with singles from Robbie, Amanda and Poirot and Robbie scoring when SweetPea hit a single. The Zons were lucky, holding the CAGs to just one run when they had bases loaded. The Zons finally got on the scoreboard in the 2nd when Echo, Andre, Aries and Poco combined for 2 runs tying the game at 2. The CAGs retook the lead in the 3rd scoring 2 runs with hits from Fawkes, Mowgli, Grady and Picasso while their defense shut out the Zons. In the 4th the CAGs had an opening single from Kelly but were unable to score while the Zons added 2 runs with Stubby scoring when Asha hit a HR. After 4 innings the game was tied 4-4. In the 5th the Zons scored 4 runs with back to back solo HRs from Maxie and Gunner. Then Echo, Andre and Poco combined for 2 more to take the lead 8-4. The next 4 innings were dominated by the defenses with both teams being shut out on offense. The scoreboard would not change until the 9th when Zon’s Aries hit a solo HR into left field. Final Score: Zons 9, CAGs 4. Game 2 will be Friday.
