hi from jack
we have done 1 show since last time and getting ready for another. I haven't learned any new tricks yet but keep trying to learn the retrive. I've gotten to the point of picking up a plastic poker chip but I won't take it to dad yet. As for training success I find their favorite treat and give that only as a reward and never as just a regular treat. When ever we are working on tricks I reward him for any part that he does right even if it is just for a second. For new tricks like I did with jacks stick up I just watched him as we would do the egale because to stat the egale I had to slip my fingers under his wings and gentely press upward so he would get the Idea and after he got the Idea I noticed that any time on his training stand I started moveing towards him with one finger streached out he would throw his wings out and keep raiseing them. so I just rewarded it and started useing the phrase it's a stickup and he started responding to a mix of the phrase and the finger. Alot of the tricks I have found for large birds can be reworked for our smaller frinds we just need to make smaller props
