"Your bird is like your child! It should be worth the expense!" Who does that sound like? (I don't mean anyone person in particular.) They don't understand that our parents don't view a bird as worth it, do they? I have never had Beep to the vet. We can't afford it, and I said I would be able to remedy and minor illnesses (cold, dietary, etc.) without paying for a vet visit. I love Beep very much, but the family's welfare comes before his, that's for sure. He's JUST an animal. A very wonderful animal at that, but just an animal. That's my take on things. (If I had the money, I would give him everything he wants, but alas...)Have you tried dowel training him? Have you tried gloves? Maybe you need to start at "ground zero" with him and work your way back up... is he clicker trained? You handle most of the expenses for him don't you? Does he have a playstand? I think we can remedy this. I KNOW WE CAN! Besides, we have prayer, don't we?? :) Nothin' stronger. Not even that good ol' Mountain Dew! (Just a little bluegrass joke there. You like bluegrass dontcha? What artists?) One more thing about Buddy. What is his bedtime? Try having somebody put him to bed at 7 o'clock. That should help a ton! I lowered Beep's bedtime from 9:30 to 8:00 and that helps MILLIONS with hormones. I'm planning on lowering it still. (Here's a vote for ya! What does bird of the week get you? he he he... ) -Beep's Dad |
