Hi Bodie --
Thanks for writing to me. You are very cute. Your mom asked mine for a report of my health and activity status at 15. I have a cataract in one eye, but we think it may be injury related since there is no sign of any problem in the other. I don't think I have begun to slow down at all. I have always liked to hide in a hut, and under my cage paper so I do spend some quiet time, but I always have. I eat, fly, run, and bite any hand in my cage with the same verve and flair I always have. I take care to groom Braveheart and keep him beautiful. I make a ferocious mess of my cage each day, as is my job. My diet has always included some seed, non-colored pellets of various kinds, and recently mom has added Goldenfeast Australian Blend and Petite Treat. I get half a fig (fresh if possible, dried if not) each day, a blackberry or raspberry each day, and the full range of fruits/veggies that my fibligs get (greens, corn, peas, beans, broccoli, winter squash, sweet potatoes, corn, kiwi, grapes, etc., etc.) I have begun to show my age in my feathering; I do not look as perfect as I did a year ago, but I am not missing feathers -- they are just not as perfect as they were. I am still enjoying life -- in fact, I bullied the Amazon baseball team captain last year into letting me play, since I do think I am an Amazon. I think all those scientists have it wrong. And I plan to play on the team this year. Mom does worry about me since the local bird store told her that they don't see Parrotlets over 14. I told her to chill out. I'm not ready to go anywhere quite yet. Oh and if my mom risks injury and takes me out of the cage, I am still sugar sweet once I am out. Braveheart was never tamed, so he is scared to come out.
