Howdy Spike!
Never seen a Red Belly before, eh? (well, you or one of your flockmates...) Number one, and foremost, I'm a lady! The boys in my breed are "sexually dimorphic"-- they have different feathers. Check out Xerxes-- one of my friends. You'll see he has lots of bright orange feathers on his chest-- oddly hence the name red-bellied. (I figure that whoever discovered us was colorblind.) We Red-Bellies are Poicephalus parrots, from the African continent. The Red-Bellies tend to be generally quieter-- but we ladies have lots to say in human speak. I say more human words than bird types. I am just a bit larger than you, as a Quaker. I know mommy loves Quakers-- her beloved Zazu passed away 4 years ago and she misses him still. He was around 15 when he passed and she felt it was far too young. She learns more about birds every day, though. She has focused on learning as much as possible so I can benefit. Lucky me! I'm worth it, though! I'm so happy to have met you. Here's my vote little buddy (I don't often get to say that!) Ciao for now!
