~~~~ On Titanic, Ruby, her mother, and Romeo were settling into their Parlor Suite Rooms 52, 54, and 56. Ruby was redecorating the sitting room with some recently purchased paintings. When Romeo comments on the “mud puddles”, Ruby retorts to her mother, “The difference between Romeo’s taste in art and mine is that I HAVE some.” ~~~~ The Captain orders his first officer to take Titanic to sea. “Let’s stretch her legs!” Rio and RaneBozio take to the bow, and marvel that the race is on between Titanic and several dolphins. There is a luncheon for the 1st class passengers, ship’s officers and company men responsible for the ship’s design. ~~ Romeo orders for himself and Ruby without the slightest consideration for her parrotsonal preferences. The feisty young LadyBird comments to the Captain and ship’s designers how Dr. Freud would have interpreted their choice of the name “Titanic” as representing something quite different than the size, stability, and power of the SHIP. After Ruby leaves the table in disgust, another passenger seated with them says to Romeo, “She’s a pistol, Romey. I hope you can handle her.” ~~ Rio has settled in to do some sketching on the third class deck, and spies Ruby above him, on the 1st class deck to which she escaped from her boorish luncheon partners. And Ruby spies Rio spying on her. ~~~~ Later that evening, Ruby has reached the limit of her insufferable engagement to Romeo and his compulsion to absolutely control her very way of being. She rushes from the dinner table, and escapes to the aft deck of Titanic, with every intention of throwing herself from the railing. ~~ As fate would have it, Rio is on deck as Ruby rushes by. He cautiously follows her broken-hearted cries, shocked to discover her unthinkable intention. He approaches her slowly, as she is now perched on the outside of the railing. And quite simply he says, “Don’t do it.” After some very subtle parrot psychology, Rio successfully coaxes Ruby to climb back over the railing to safety and LIFE. But just as Ruby releases the grip of one foot to swing it back over the railing, she accidentally snaps off a talon on the other foot and is very nearly lost to the sea. Rio flaps to the top of the railing and in a flash grabs onto the loose foot as he says, “Listen! I’ve GOT you. I WON’T LET GO.”
