Hi and sorry! Nothing wrong, I've just been really distracted I guess. I took my second ceramics class and totally loved it, I've been doing a whole boatload of pet sitting, and now I'm back at EMU for the summer term- whew! I'm taking astronomy and poster design. I really like my astronomy class, the poster design class is tough because I'm the only one in there who's not a graphic design major and who hasn't had a class with this teacher before. We're making a poster/ad to sell a font (of our chioce, but it has to be less than ten years old), right? and the teacher says, "Man, I should stop saying that you're trying to sell this font, it's so commercial." Of course I had to open my stupid mouth and say,"But isn't what all of us are going to be doing, selling things?" He has a mini-tantrum and said that HE wasn't selling anything and HE was a graphic designer... Ok, so now I understant the difference in "philosophy" between WCC and EMU: WCC trains graphic designers so they can get jobs and make a living, while EMU trains them to be precious little artists who should think of making a living with you Art as selling out. Plus they are trained badly; their stuff totally sucks and it's not from lack of talent. Anyway... The birds are all doing great- no new ones. I keep thinking the right keet for Windy will show up. She and Sky are good friends, but there's no sign they'll ever be anything more. I've been interviewing with several potential new clients- some actually have birds! One woman has horses, dogs, cats, and a sun conure. She's training the horses for film work! This the the coolest part (I think), she lives in a subdivision that's horse-friendly: there's a neighborhood stable for boarding, riding trails, and pastures for the horses. I've heard about them, but I didn't know there were any in Dexter! Another has six birds (sun conure, blue-headed conure, moustache parakeet, and three 'tiels). The others are dog people, which is fine. This is my busy season for pet-sitting and if all goes well I'll be booked through August! I love that you're setting up a site to sell your work! My business name and DBA have expired and I've decided to change my business name to either Autumn Rain Creations or Autumn Rain Studio (heck, maybe I'll register both, it's only about five bucks!). Oh, Lucy's still chugging along, she's back on her medication and the vet is astonished that she's still alive, considering her "monster thyroid". Now that her thyroid's calmed down a bit, her apetite is better and she's not quite as picky- but she's still only eating canned food. I'm very glad that the horse didn't choke to death- what an awful way to go! Is there something wrong with it's throat, that it's prone to choking? Maybe if I get this dog-sitting gig in August I'll get another bourke's- it would be a new client and it would mean about $700-, I'd be able to make three car payments and have a little left over!
