Hello there
Yep, 25 years old and set in their ways is right. A bird such as that would be best in a home with no children. Maybe they should spend a little time with him and see how he handles. If it were a biter and didn't want to be handled, would that be OK with them? I have seen birds that do not handle well, but still enjoy interaction with their owners. Many birds that do not want handled still enjoy company, and an occasional scritch or treat. I, myself, am comfortable with such a bird, but it is entirely up to the individual. I bet she loved that Hyacinth. They are the most docile of all Macaws. It is a shame that they are so expensive. I sure wish I had the money, as Phil keeps trying to sell me his at a reduced price, which is still too costly for me, lol~~Hollie and flock
