DRAGONS COME FROM BEHIND WITH 9TH INNING GRANDSLAM
The Super Sennies took the field today against the Quaker Little Dragons. In the first inning the Quakers were blanked by the Sennies but in turn only allowed a single from AZ Mango. In the 2nd, Quaker’s Simon and River would get on base but were unable to reach home. The Sennies would load the bases with Ziggy, Kermit and Lover Boy but were also denied. Points finally got on the board in the 3rd when Quincy, Little Bit, Jade, Mikey and JoJo combined for 4 runs. The Sennies scored 1 with hits from Lars, Max and Pico. In the 4th, Simon, Waddles and Peter combined for 1 run while the Sennies kept it close when AZ Mango and Nanje scored when Kermit hit a HR. In the 5th and leading 5-4, the Dragons got hot scoring 5 runs with singles by Little Bit, JoJo, Simon, Sunny, a double by Mikey and Audie’s triple . Senegal Lola scored when Sam hit a single to make the score 10-5. In the next 3 innings, the Senegal defense would blank the Dragons while scoring 6 runs to take an 11-10 lead. Hits included singles by Lola, Sam, Lars, Pico, Ziggy, Kiwiwee and Kermit and doubles from NY Mango, Gus and Kermit. Going into the 9th, the sleeping Dragon offense came to life again. Peter would tie the game with a HR. Then Photon, Quincy and Little Bit loaded the bases and scored with Jade’s Grand Slam HR to take a 15-11 lead. The stunned Sennies could not recover at the plate. Final Score: Quaker Little Dragons 15, Super Sennies 11. |
