Hello Jaco
Sorry to hear that your friend decided to find a new home for their parrot. It is hard on birds when they are given up by their owners. We just adopted "Susan". She is an 18 month old female eclectus that was in a foster home. She has a great personality and all of us birdies are getting used to her. Pedro is the amazon in our flock. Pedro is not loud, though. When she decides to get loud, she just talks and repeats all of the things that she likes to earth shaking jungle calls or anything like that! Buddy is the loudest in our flock, and he is a dusky headed conure. His shreek is ear piercing!!! He spends his time upstairs in Dominick's bedroom with the finches. (His loudness does not allow him to be in the family room with the other parrots). Rocket, our congo african gray is well mannered, too, and is is not very loud. He just likes to talk and boss everyone around. Rocket is funny...he curses, belches and makes loud farting noises, while saying "rip ass". (He learned all of this stuff from our 16 year old son "Dominick"...aren't teenagers great!!!) Fly on in for a visit any time!
