I am constantly amazed by how quickly Gretta learns speach! She already has a very large vocabulary and we converse daily. Gretta does not mimic me, but comprehends words and their meanings, forming complete sentences. She really surprised me the other night while I was scrubbing the floors in the aviary, (which is really the 'living room' of our house complete with beautiful hard-wood floors!). I was on my hands and knees with my brush, washcloth, hand-towel, and bucket of hot vinegar-water and had just reached the space beside Grettas' cage. (I must move cages around to make sure I get EVERYWHERE!) I heard her comment "Mommy, that is some NASTY water. Nasty, nasty water." I looked up and she was looking through the bars of her cage down at me and the bucket. Of course I had to affirm her by saying "Your're right Gretta! This IS some nasty water." Honestly, could I ever be more entertained or delighted by anything else other than my beloved birds?! Liz
