Hi Icarus
What a beautiful bird! I had a female red-rumped parakeet named Olivia. I absolutely loved her sweet little trills - she would run to the edge of her perch and get all excited whenever I walked into the room. She also loved to have her head scratched and would relax so much that she would almost melt through the cage bars when I would pet her. Red-rumps can be pugnacious. She used to love to 'police' my cockatiels whenever I let her out. Her nickname was 'the green beret'. She passed away Jan. 15, 2005 at the age of 11 and a half. She was neglected in her previous home- they kept her above the garage in a cold dark room. I rescued her and her friend: a female lutino cockatiel that I named Melody (she was a sweetie too). I enjoyed her company for almost 5 years. She was a delight! I hope you have lots of fun with him! v4u
