WE WON!
2ND HALF OF SEASON STARTED YESTERDAY
Yesterday was the official start of the 2 half of the season as the Brazilian Bombers took on the Super Sennies. In the 1st inning, the Zon got on the board as Asha, BabyGirl and Ben scored when Maxie hit a triple. The Super Sennies matched the Zons when LoverBoy and Erin Amber scored when Sam hit a HR to tie the game at 3. The Zons were blanked in the 2nd as SS took a commanding lead when Pico and Gus scored when KiwiWee hit a HR. AZ Mango, Nanje, Ziggy, Kermit, Erin Amber and NY Mango combined for 6 more runs and the inning was capped by Lola’s HR to make the score 10-3. The Zons were scoreless again in the 3rd as the Super Sennies padded their lead when Max scored when Pico hit a HR. The Zon drought finally ended in the 4th when Stubby scored when Asha hit a HR. Maxie and Gunner would follow with solo shots to make the score 15-7 Super Sennies. SS saw a solo HR by Ziggy. The next 3 innings saw the teams trade 1 run each as NY Mango and Lola combined for 1 in the 5th. For the Bombers, the 7th inning saw them load the bases with Asha, Ben and Maxie as Asha scored on Gunner’s single but with bases loaded the Zons could not capitalize. Trailing 17-8, the Bombers needed to fire up big time. In the 8th, Andre scored when Aries hit a HR. Then Leah and Matty scored when Stubby hit a HR to make the score 17-13. But the Super Sennies came right back as Erin Amber, NY Mango, Lars and Max combined for 4 runs. Going into the 9th and trailing 21-13, the Zons needed to rally. Maxie’s double and a string of singles by Ben, Echo, Andre, Aries and Leah would result in 3 runs and with bases loaded, the inning looked promising. But the Super Sennie defense had something to say and downed the Bombers. Final Score SUPER SENNIES 21, Amazon Brazilian Bombers 16.
