Hi Edgar
Mom didnt know ekkies plucked either and when I started to do it then others said we do but not all of us do but is a trait in ekkies. Oh man for my breakfast mom makes me steel cut oatmeal with unsweetened applesauce, Then she makes me a couple of hours later brown rice, beans and veggies and egg. Late in the afternoon I get cut up fresh fruit and I always have my pellets in the bowl as well. Mom also has me on bee pollen and spirulina and another thing to calm me down so I am not as hyper and dont pluck as much. I didnt pluck till I got sick in the winter with the bacterial infection and its like a habit of chewing fingernails in humans the vet said. I was on zupreem but the colore pellets were bad and also on pretty bird for ekkies but the coloring is bad in it and then tried volkmans for ekkies but its full of seed and sunfower seeds so that was bad for me as well. Looks like this one mom has me on now though is helping me so will see since its only been 3 months since I started it. Have you and Sadie thought of having a family? My fister Chi chi is a lovebird and she occassionaly lays eggs but they arent fertile. Mom tries to discourage it as much as possible but it happens anyway hihihi. Mom and her friends and some relatives went to a scrapbooking show and sure had fun. It looked like mom had the most fun if the one with the most bags is happiest hihihi. “Friends are like quilts, lives pieced together, stitched with smiles, colored with memories, and bound by love” Come visit me anytime…I will be here waiting for you. V4U….Love ya!! Gus
