Oh Twig you are simply delightful! I enjoyed reading all about you and Leaf - Great names, by the way! YES most of my large raptors swim in the pool out back with us! Fran started it. She loves to sit on the very top of the ladder while I am sunning on my floaty with a glass of iced juice or water. She always enjoyed water and I have some great pics of her thoroughly emmersing herself under a fine mist from the garden hose. I guess she got tired of being on the sidelines and just plunged in one day! Yes, she floats! They all do! They spread out their wings on the surface of the water and either just hang out and look around, or actively kick their legs aiming for me (and of course I go to them and scoop them up and shower them with kisses and praise!) The ONLY thing that isn't so good about my swimming birds is the amount of bird dander/powder that comes off of the Toos . . . they leave a wide white trail behind them! Most of my smaller birds also enjoy water immensely, but their water games are limited to INSIDE. Everyone except my 3 Greys. The Conures drench themselves in large water bowls I leave on the counter, or will busy themselves in their own water bowl(s) if I have forgotten to leave one out for them. The Lovebirds too. Hannibal is my only bird who does NOT bathe with water . . . He takes sand baths! My Tiels also really enjoy playing in the water. (I dont have a page for them yet, but you can see them on top of Hannibals' cage in a picture under his Blog box!) Thanks for visiting! Liz
