Hi Kalina,
I'm working with Shadow to teach him 1,2,3 and red, green, blue, and yellow, and to learn some basic words like "out" (as in, "Shadow go out" on the deck), "in" (back inside, or in the cage), "lights out" (he can turn the light switch off in the bathroom after we brush our teeth). I got him a baby einstien video too about neighborhood animals. So far he's tried to say "rabbit" twice. The video is intended for babies age 6 months. He likes to watch parts of it sometimes, but his attention span is limited! Leaf and Twig fly around my place freely. We've made the place bird safe for them. This freedom makes it hard for us to sit down with them and teach them tricks, though. They love to hang out with us and learn things on their own terms, but we have never tried to teach them to wave! That's really cool that Sunny picked it up so quick! He must be really smart. Twig loves language lessons. He'll sit on Ron's shoulder and stretch his head over to his lips to listen. If Ron is silent, Twig will touch his lips with his beak. He listens closely, and learns it very well. Leaf is really independent, and very smart. He's learned to say the things that Twig does without the personal one on one attention, but he never says "Twig" (while everything the Twig says always involves "Twig", like: "Good bird Twig bird. I'm the Twig bird"). Leaf learned on his own to substitute in "Leaf". He doesn't say as much, but he'll say: "Leaf Bird", "Good bird Leaf bird". It's very smart of him, because before he started saying "Leaf bird", I just called him Leaf, not Leaf bird.
