My bird is nice. ALL birds go through a nippy faze and Neechi has gone, and going through one. He has never drawn blood. He has a "game" he plays and was taught by the non bird people in the house. He will make like he is going to step up, and then slams his beak down like he is gonne bite. However, never actualy bites, but the tip of a birds beak is still painful. I have learned to read him, and he is learning that that game is not acceptable. All birds will bite if they get the reaction desired. I know it is easier said than done, but if you play it bland and give a firm "NO", they get the hint. All I can say about the J is be steady but firm during the terible twos and the horrible threes. Thank God Neechi will be 4 soon. He is more pleasant than onery, but he likes the reactions he gets when he is onery.
