Menolly here. Oh mom puts it in a container that is real hard for us to tip and puts water in it (she ties up the container, which can be another feed dish as in the finches cage,so it can't tip over) an puts it inside the cage. If she doesn't want to do that she could drape it on top of your cage, but in a container with water keeps it going. Since watercress grows in brooks and such they do real well. Just change the water once a week or so. Mom just goes to the store and gets it in produce section. it can be planted but putting it in water is just fine. Just make sure it's in a container that isn't to deep just in case someone gets into it. hehehe I tried to take a bath in mine once. And if we chew it down to low mom just goes and spends around 75cents for some more. Just make sure your mom washes it real good. Have fun!!
