Hi from Maxie the WonderBird! Hey Knuck! Ok, here's a lengthy explanation: Actually, BOTW and BOTM goes to the bird who garners the most weekly(BOTW) or month's worth of votes (BOTM). Used to be that the bird who knew the most birds and socialized and visited the most got the awards, so it was always a surprise. (That's how I've gotten them, I just love to visit and chat!) Now, though, birds ask to be put on a 'list' so that other birds know they are attempting the award--makes it a lot easier, and gives them a chance to meet new birds that they wouldn't have met. There are pros and cons of opinions either way, and sometimes even being on a 'list' doesn't do it if they are too new or don't know enough birds. And after a year, Bird Channel decides that a bird can win again, so that will mess things up on occasion (I won BOTW again during Thanksgiving week, and I wasn't trying--and last week the bird who is attempting BOTM got BOTW again). The only thing you get for winning either title is that award in your page award section, and some points from Bird Channel. And you need a lot of points to get any prizes. So I've never understood what all the excitement is about...lol... Rocky #16847 keeps the list of BOTW contenders on his page, and Kiddo #7592 keeps the list of BOTM hopefuls. Now that I've put you to sleep with this info, I'll wish you and your family a wonderful holiday! Christmas Smooches... |
