IT'S FINNEGAN WISHING YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR
Hello beautiful Chiger, I'm so sorry to hear that you've been plucking. Wearing one of those collars is no fun at all. Tell your Mama to give you a bath or shower at least every other day. Mama was also reading today that a good cure for plucking is to mix 1 Tblsp. cider vinegan with 8 oz, warm water and spray your with it everyday for a month. Or your Mom could also mix 1 cap of Listerine with 8 oz. warm water. The person who wrote this said that they had done this for an African grey who had been plucked for 20 yrs. and he stopped and is now fully feathered. I could hardly believe it. Our vet said that the trouble with puting collars on birds is that then they can't groom themselves and that increases the problem.

So you have a new ekkie at your house, eh? It sounds like your Mama has her hands full with that little girl. Female ekkies are more territorial and aggressive than the males. That's because we ekkies are a matriarcal society and the females rule the roost, so to speak. Once a girl ekkie reaches maturity, her hormones take over and she can't really help herself. That's just her nature although some girls are better than others and not quite so nippy. We boys are the sweethearts of the breed, more layed back and easy going. Lucy and I want to wish you and your flockily the very best New Year ever, filled with good health, happiness and as many blessings as our Good Lord can shower on you. And just in case I never mentioned it before, that main photo of you is adorable! Vote 4 U! Big Hugs from your friend, Finnegan
