Oh, Phebe, you have such a sad and happy story all rolled into one. "All's well that ends well." I think that's what old Will used to say. I can't tell you how happy I am that you've found your forever home. I have, too. My 1st owners had me the first two years of my life, but unfortunately, they had two very sick children who both needed kidney transplants. They found that they could no longer give me and my 6 flockmates the attention we needed because of their very ill children. Also, the children's immune systems were compromised. So with a very heavy heart, my 1st Mom brought my flockmates and me back to the bird store where she had gotten us. It was up to them to find us new homes. I was there for about a month when my new Momma came in to get something for Lucy and she saw me. (She had always wanted an ekkie.) She asked for me to be taken out of my cage and to hold me. Well, let me tell you, was I ever scared!!! I did not want to come out, but once I did, it wasn't so bad. She came back the next day and the next. By then, all she had to do was open my door and put her hand inside my cage and I would step up for her. I started to really look forward to her visits. She came everyday except a few when she had to go out of town. After 3 or 4 weeks she decided to take me home and, boy, was I ever happy. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Big Hugs from Finnegan
