Heya, Ted!
Wow, you have quite a life story. You are so lucky to have landed on your claws and get such a great forever home. Your mom has a huge heart, too. She's a vet on top of it all. That means she has an even bigger heart!

My mom wanted to be a vet, but chose a profession in law long ago. She always had being a vet in her heart, though, and even went back to school a few years ago to take some pre-vet courses. She went back to law after figuring that it just wasn't in the stars for her.

She has a great avian vet out here in SF, at Bay Area Bird Hospital. Not that *I* like the vet, but Mom sure feels good about her.

The way you found your mom reminds me of what Mom recently went through. Mom's best friend passed away a couple of months ago with cancer. She had a yellow-naped amazon named Nestle. Mom promised her that Nes would be taken care of and would be in a loving home, including ours if that's how fate would have it. As it turns out, Mom and her friend had a mutual friend, Justine, who lost her blue-fronted amazon a year earlier. Justine loved Nestle and wanted her so much. It was meant to be. Now Nestle is living the high life in Boise. Mom just went out to visit Nes and her new mom and was so happy to see how well they were both doing.

So you have a menagerie at home, eh? It's just the flock of 5 over here. Mom had a couple of wonderful dogs who respected us birds. They were big and black, a lab (Cele) and a newfie mix (Bear). Cele died about 4 years ago, and Bear about a year and a half ago. It broke Mom's heart. She isn't looking for any more animals to add to the mix. We keep her busy enough, hehheh!

So you take care, little Ted. I hope you and your mom stay warm in that winter weather. Say hi anytime. It's a pleasure to hear from you!

Your buddy,
