With a sad heart...
Oh, dear....with all the sadness and confusion here, we thought we sent you a message but I see we didn't. We are so sorry. Our beloved Comet took ill on Valentine's Day. He was rushed to an animal emergency center not to far from us. This hospital does not do avian blood work on site and from the exam that the vet did, she told us that she thought Comet either had a cancer of the liver or kidney or was in liver or kidney failure. Comet was well enough to be released and was till we could see our vet early on Monday morning. He did the blood work and fifteen minutes later we got the devastating news....Comet has a failing liver. He has a few months at best, a few days at worst. He is on three separate medications to help relieve his bloating, which is causing him distress and is also causing him to be short of breath. The extra water weight is pushing on his little lungs. Mom has been beside herself lately. the thought of losing her little Comet is more then she can bear. He has improved slightly with the meds so that is a good sign. The better the meds work, the longer we will have Comet. King Floop heard about Comet and moved his run up the list for yesterday and today. The response has been overwhelming! Prayers and well wishes are pouring in and mom has been trying her best to keep up. Mom has written so many blogs since Monday! I hope you can say a prayer for Comet and maybe the miracle that mom wants so badly will be granted to her.

Birdie hugs,
