Hello from Twilight!
Hi Murzy,
I have not been bred yet. Mom heard that I would get snappy & standoffish if I was. Plus her past experience with girl birds has been that they are much more territorial and agressive than boys. Her first Lovebirds were a girl and a boy who each had their own cage. She got them @ a pet store one day when she went in to look for fish with the little kids. They were kept in a room with lots of other Lovebirds, probably around 20, & were out of their cages. Rory, the boy, was a peach face, & Blue, the girl, was all blue & very wild from everyone trying to catch her all the time because she was so unusual. Rory immeadiately bonded with Mom & the oldest kid & Mom was so upset at the way Blue was being handled that she bought her too. It was almost a year before Blue would let anyone handle her or come near her cage. Mom still let her out regularly for excercise but had to keep Blue's wings clipped & limit her free time to periods when the kids weren't home because they were afraid she would bite them. (Blue's motto was "bite first find out later")
Did you find that breeding made you get agressive & less cuddly? Mom would hate to have my personality change because right now I'm just about perfect!
Happy Flying!
