How I met My Momma and from pain to Great Hope
Well this is how my momma and I met; let me give you some background on everything. My name is Hope Joy and I am a female SI Eclectus. My momma is Chellie and she is my life and she is everything to me too.
Well it was a cold day in Dec. and my human brothers weren’t feeling good that day and please remember my momma was so careful with her cleaning supplies and when she bought a new swifter, and the company started putting Febreeze in it which my mom didn’t notice on the label saying it had Febreeze in it and my Human brother had gotten sick the day my momma used it. He got sick right by Blue’s cage (Blue is my feathered brother from another mother). So my momma was cleaning up from him getting sick and noticed that it smelled like Febreeze and by then it was too late, she realized that it had Febreeze in it. Well she tried to vent the windows for Blue and she thought Blue was fine so she went to bed because he was playing and singing, but when momma got up in the morning Blue's skin was blue and purple. My momma rushed him to the Hospital and they tried everything they could but Blue lost his battle and went to the Rainbow Bridge.
Momma was completely devastated with what had happened, she had had Blue for 16 yrs. and he brought joy into her life, and she was lost without him. She was so sad; she decided to take a trip to Parrot Domain to see the Parrots that were there because that would give her comfort. Well Ms. Ann the lady that raised me till momma adopted me, was sitting at the table with me when momma came into the store. My momma sat down and proceeded to tell Ms. Ann what happened to Blue. Well Ms. Ann let momma stay as long as she wanted, but Momma kept looking at me and then she asked Ann about me and Ms. Ann told her that I was handicapped; Momma asked what happened and Ms. Ann told her I had broken my leg when I was a tiny baby and my leg didn't heal right. Well, momma asked if she could hold me; Ms. Ann said yes and I was a bit nervous but I let her hold me. Momma whispered that she would be back the next day, and that she had to get home. Well the next day came and there she was coming to see me again, I didn't know what to think. I was a bit surprised that she came back because not many people had come by to see me because in their eyes I wasn’t perfect, but you know what in my momma’s eyes I was. Well after about 3 times of my momma visiting me. Ms. Ann asked her if she would ever be interested in getting another bird, she said yes she would. Ms. Ann said that before she met my momma that she was going to keep me at The Parrot Domain because she didn’t think anyone could or would want to take care of me the way I needed, but I really think Ms. Ann loved me and didn’t really want to let me go, but when Ms. Ann met my momma she could see how much we needed each other and she thought that we would be a good fit for each other.
