Hi Ike
Punkin here. Just finished my story. Hope you like it.

Finches Baseball part 2

Here’s Punkin on the mound. She throws her ball to Aya who is surprisingly good at catching. Handsome steps up to the base, gets into his batting stance, which is a bit distracting because he’s so good looking, then Punkin winds up and throws. Handsome hits a high fly and Odette is under it in very good form. She catches it and tosses it to Cricket on first who throws it to Sunny Daze on Second who throws it to Tweeters on third. Speck steps up to bat. He gets a good, solid contact and off it goes into the bleachers. A HOME RUN!! As he’s running the bases Stargazer flies over to get the ball. Since no one is watching the game he gets away with it. Up steps Kili. Punkin winds up and lets fly….STRIKE! yells Clyde. Punkin pitches again and STRIKE! OOOOO, Punkin is feeling real good now. She winds up and WHACK! Kili hits the ball into left field where Fili runs and the ball misses the ball by it grazing his mitt. He recovers the ball and throws it to center, Moonlight, who throws it to Sunny Daze who throws it to Punkin. She checks the ball and when she looks up there’s a huge Moluccan Too steps up and says, “Hey you got quite an arm on you. Your team looks good too. Didn’t know we had a finch team. Of course, it’s hard to see you all. Especially the outfield. Good thing we birds have good eyes. Mind throwing me a few so I can warm up?”
Puinkin is shocked. She is amazed anyone else was at the field, but she says “Sure. Step up”. Then she winds up and throws a fastball. “STRIKE!” “Hey, I didn’t see the ball!!” Let me look at it a sec.” Clyde tosses him the ball. The Too says, “This is just a grain of grit! I need a ball!” “That IS the ball. We don’t have a ball like the rest of you guys. Even the budgies balls are to big for us. We ARE a bit small, you know.” Wow, I never realized that. You guys are so….so…good! I bet we wouldn’t have a chance against your team. But since your ball doesn’t work like all the other balls, I’m going to have to pass. Still say you got quite an arm.” “Thanks. We like to play, but we know you big guys couldn’t see us so we’ll stay in the bleachers and watch. Last year Bilbo tried to catch a ball and Starry Daze ended up pulling him from under it. Knocked him out royal.”
