Hi Harley!
About scritching and beak-rubbing - I was very nervous about my human flock touching me when I was younger. It took several years before I really started trusting them with touch, and even now I want it only on my terms. As a Pionus, I will probably never be a "touchy feeley" bird like some other parrot species. Time, soft "baby talk", and slow, careful, hand approaches from my humans got me to let them rub me - but my head and beak only - not my wings or body! Also, I feel most secure when I am high enough to be "above the action" of the rest of my flock (that's why I like Frank to do scritching when I am in my place of honor on the back of the couch - sitting at head level behind him). I hope this helps - Your friend, Romeo
