Queen Calico, Part three.
Queen Calico returns to her royal chambers and proceeds to write a proclamation, which reads; “I, Queen Calico, do hereby proclaim the formation of “The Bird Channel Department of Homeland Security”, which will openly serve to protect all who come to the Bird Channel, both as visitors and members. I, Queen Calico, also name Popeye as the “Director of the Bird Channel Department of Homeland Security”, whose duty will be to openly oversee all aspects of daily operations and the safety and protection of all on the Bird Channel. This proclamation, Signed this day, June 1st, 2010 by me, Queen Calico, Bird of the Day.
The proclamation took so long to write that the sun had set and the royal staff had turned on the lights. So Queen Calico returned to her private chambers to make herself ready for the evening’s activities. There was to be wining, dining and dancing. And, at the end of the evening, the passing of the royal scepter to the next Bird of the Day.
After making herself ready, Queen Calico makes her way down to the royal dining room and greets her guests for the evening. The royal servants bring out the most fabulous feast that Calico has ever seen. During the dinner, Queen Calico makes her way around the table, thanking each guest for their support. Then, after dissert, provided by The Proud Bird Pie Shop, Queen Calico leads the guests to the royal ball room for an evening of dancing, with music provided by The Beach Boys, Chicago, Kenney Rogers, Neil Diamond and many others.
The evening passed all too quickly and soon it was time to bid everybody a goodnight and to prepare for the royal ceremony at midnight.
Before Queen Calico enters the royal assembly hall, she is handed a sealed envelope which contains the name of the next Bird of the Day. Queen Calico opens the envelope, reads the name and smiles. She is now ready for the royal ceremony.
Queen Calico enters the royal assembly hall and before her, stands the next Bird of the Day, Rocky PR. Rocky kneels and bows to Queen Calico.
“Bird of the Day Rocky-Step forward”. Rocky steps forward and kneels before Queen Calico. Queen Calico holds the Royal Scepter and speaks; “Rocky, this scepter represents the royal honor bestowed upon you by your friends, of Bird of the Day. By royal proclamation, I, Queen Calico, pass this Royal Scepter to you and declare you King Rocky, Bird of the Day. Rocky rises and accepts the Royal Scepter from Calico, who kneels and bows to now, King Rocky PR, Bird of the Day.
