Queen Calico, Part One.
Calico and her flock attend Bluebell’s party at the castle, where they all eat great food and dance the night away. However, there is something that Calico needs to do. She rushes off to the royal dressing rooms, where the BOTD staff awaits her.
At the stroke of Midnight, Calico enters the royal assembly hall, where all her friends from the party await her. Her sisters Popeye, Sunny, Chilli and Ales are there, too. They are all assembled to view the first public viewing of the passing of the Royal Bird of the Day Scepter.
But wait; there is another who enters the hall. A lovely lady Cockatiel named Pringle makes her way to the front of the hall and stands beside Calico. Pringle is there to receive the Bird of the Month crown from reigning king Manu. Calico and Pringle both stand in silence, awaiting the presence of King Manu and Queen Bluebell.
A few moments pass and the large velvet curtains open and King Manu enters the room with Queen Bluebell on his wing. They both move to the front of the hall and stand before Calico and Pringle.
Queen Bluebell steps forward and speaks first; “Bird of the Day Calico-Step forward”. Calico steps forward and kneels before Queen Bluebell. Queen Bluebell holds the Royal Scepter and speaks; “Calico, this scepter represents the royal honor bestowed upon you by your friends, of Bird of the Day. By royal proclamation, I, Queen Bluebell, pass this Royal Scepter to you and declare you Queen Calico, Bird of the Day. Calico rises and accepts the Royal Scepter from Bluebell, who kneels and bows to now, Queen Calico.
Queen Calico steps back and King Manu steps forward and speaks. “Bird of the Month Pringle- step forward.” Pringle steps forward and kneels before King Manu. King Manu removes the crown from his head and speaks; “Pringle, this crown represents the royal honor bestowed upon you by your friends, of Bird of the Month. By royal proclamation, I, King Manu, pass this crown to you and declare you Queen Pringle, Bird of the Month. Pringle rises and King Manu places the crown on her head, kneels and bows to now, Queen Pringle, who steps back to stand with Queen Calico.
Former king and queen, Manu and Bluebell stand and Manu announces to the crowd; “Ladies and gentlebirds; I present to you, Queen Calico, Bird of the Day and Queen Pringle, Bird of the month”. Calico and Pringle turn and face the crowd, who all rise to their feet and cheer. Queen Calico and Queen Pringle turn and walk off the stage and through the private royal exit, to proceed to their chambers, for the night.
