QUAKERS CLIP CONQUISTADORS
The Quaker Green Dragons used a strong first inning to build a lead and coast to a 17-13 win over the Columbian Conquistadors on Thursday.
Jade Kruse and Waddles hit back-to-back tripled to open the scoring for the Quakers. Littler Bit and Jade added home runs to help the Green Dragons to a 7-0 lead. The Conquistadors got home runs over the next three innings from Jenny Lynn, Ceasuar, Mohawk, and Zak but still trailed 9-5 after five innings.
Both teams posted two runs in the sixth but the Dragons powered ahead as Audie slammed a grand-slam home run in the seventh, scoring Photon, Jade, and Mario. The Cons tried to come back as Mohawk doubled in Calypso and Kiko hit a home run. Jenny-Lynn added a ninth-inning three-run home but it was not enough as the Dragons held on to win 17-13.
Jenny-Lynn drove in five runs to lead the Cons. Zak drove in three, Mohawk and Kiko two each and Ceasuar one.
Audie led the Dragons by driving in five. Photon drove in three, Jade Kruse, Little Bit, and Peter two each, and Waddles, Quincy, and Jade one apiece. |
