Hey Mojo
It's me, Lucky.
Sunny's letting me use her page til my new dad gets my new page up.
Well, let me tell you about my first day.
Anyway, yesterday, after I went with my new mom and dad, I rode over a real bumpy road. My new mom said that all the roads in La Habra are bad. Anyway, we turned into this driveway and then I was taken into this room with a whole bunch of bigger birds in it. I got scared at first but my new dad put me next to a lovebird named Chilli. Well, Chilli and I took to each other right away. We both hung on the sides of our cages and chattered to each other all afternoon. My new dad gave me some of the food that Chilli likes but I didn't care for most of it. I don't remember the name of the food that we ate. Do you remember the name of the food? I want to tell them to get me that kind.
This flock goes to bed early. We all get covered up when the sun goes down. Well, that's ok because I was worn out by then. My new dad asked me if I minded being covered up but I just looked at him. Well, he covered me up anyway but I didn't mind because this cage is so big that I went all the way to the top and that's where I stayed all night. The others didn't make a sound til morning.
This morning, while I was just getting used to the room, the other birds and the 60's music, my new dad came in amd told me that we were going to a bird store.
It was hard to read the sign but I think it said "Omar's". It's not too far from my new house. Well, little did I know what I was in for. This guy reached in and grabbed me and held me while this girl cut off my wing feathers and filed down my beak and claws. What's the deal? What did I do to deserve to get that? Hummmph!
Then, my new dad took me back home. He said that I would get used to not having wing feathers. We'll see about that!
When we got back home, dad put me in the room they call a kitchen. He put new perches in my cage and gave me some food that lookd a lot like what you and I ate. Well, it's not the same but it's better than the stuff that Chilli eats. They called it "Parakeet mix". How clever!
Right now, it's quiet and I'm preening my feathers, what's left of them, anyway.
I hope you and Tweety are doing ok. I know that we faught but I miss you guys.
More later. Don't forget to find out the name of the food you eat.
Love,
Lucky
