`Ü´ Greetings, Miss Kaliagh!
What a lovely name! May I ask, what does it mean? And, if you would be so kind, could you tell me how it is pronounced? Momma and I saw your photograph and new profile listing in the Bird eClub listing yesterday while we were searching for another birdie's page, and we both thought "How interesting a name!"

But that is not to preclude how breathtakingly beautiful we both thought you are as well! If the truth be told, were Momma to allow another birdie to join our flock, and the birdie in question were to be a Cockatoo, Momma has already determined that it could only be either a Moluccan (like yourself) or a Rose-Breasted Cockatoo. Parrotsonally, Miss Kaliagh, I would rather share my space with a Moluccan Cockatoo. You know, another large birdie, like me! And you are a v-e-r-y beautiful LadyBird!

Thank you so much for coming to introduce yourself! And thank you as well for the lovely compliment. I suspect that I should stop at this point and eggsplain to you why it is that my speaking may sound just a tad stiff, or formal. You see, I am a Southern Bird. Momma does not know where I hatched, but where I began the life that led to meeting Momma and Daddy was in a bird store in Charleston, South Carolina. Being in North Carolina, I'm sure you are immersed in Southern tradition yourself, Miss Kaliagh. And Momma realized that I must be allowed to continue in those traditional practices, or I should surely shrivel up and die! So, Momma purchase a book called "GRITS ~ Girls Raised in the South", and she tries VERY hard to sustain my heritage for me. (I have to *g*i*g*g*l*e* from time to time though. Momma is a Born-and-Bred MidWesterner herself. It is quite humorous watching her try to emulate Southern Gentility!) So, please forgive if my mannerisms are not Pure Southern Belle. I am at the mercy of Momma's ability to immitate a GRITS Girl.

I am so pleased that you have chosen to "dive in" and make the acquaintance of other BirdChannel birdies as you have, my featheriend. You will get much more enjoyment out of this community with that approach. There is much to see and do here with all the birdies as well. To start you on your way, I invite you to stop by The Pretty Rose Flower Shop, where I am employed by the owner Miss Alex (a Yellow-Collared Macaw). This is our Grand Opening week, and we have refreshments and a free rose for everybirdy who comes in. If you search for "Pretty Rose" on the Search Page you will find us. We are Profile No. 188440 (if you have figured out how to get to a birdie's page by that method yet). Or, come by my page again and look for a blog from Miss Alex and click on the link at the bottom. But please, DO come back to visit me again!

I hope to see you again soon, Miss Kaliagh! It has been a pleasure meeting you!!

A bientot, mon amie [See you soon, My Featheriend]… `Ü´ Ruby
