Hello! Thanks for wanting to be my friends. I have a Quaker in my flock and her name is Jade. She used to have a good buddy,Josh, who was also rescued from a bad home situation, like me. I knew them for two years when last January, when hormones were racing in all of us, the blue crown conure, Oliver, attacked poor Josh. Josh was always timid and he didn't even put up much of a fight. Jade tried to help but she's got a bum leg. Oliver killed Josh on the bottom of Josh and Jades' cage. It is too terrible to even think about cuz I really liked Josh. He was a good Quaker. My Mom cried and cried. She wasn't mad at Oliver at all! I would have been. She was mad at herself cuz they hadn't been getting along. Neither of us ever dreamed that Oliver would do something so mean to a fellow flock member that he had known for years. Since I am a BIG bird I live in a large cage in the TV room. My Dad said my cage wouldn't fit through the door to the bird room but really, I think he just wants to watch TV with me. Sometimes Mom makes unsalted, unbuttered popcorn when we settle down to watch a movie. Don't worry about having a boys' name. Nine cockatiels live here too and a couple have gender challenging names. Tip of my feather to the two of ya, Jena.
