Hey there Arwen
Got your message! Thanks for stopping on by and seeing the gang. You are definitely right that Frodo and Arwen look very similar. I was somewhat shocked when you called him by his type of recessive pied, I'm quite familiar with all the types, I just hear so few people that know and mention this. I had actually started research budgies about a year before I got one, well I should say when one got me. When I got Frodo I was quite confused at age and sex because his traits were all mixed up, one would suggest male and the other female. It wasn't until I figured out the different types that I understood what he was. People still call him a baby because of the all black and then they are shocked when I tell them he is about 9 years old. Your Arwen is a very beautiful bird and lucky to have such an owner. I'm curious to go look at some more recessive pieds to see if there is a noticeable difference in the different sexes head shape. Some species of birds will have slightly different shapes for each sex and I'm curious if this is a trait of budgies/recessive pieds. Well, very pleased to meet you and the feathered friends. Best wishes and have a great week.
