Hi Dewey
Hi, he sure knows alot of words. I cant remember all that Kiwi knew but i think it was over 10. He also said "smart birdy" and "you poop". Probably one way to wean him on pellets is to get a seed with less sunflowers in it and maybe he will eye ball the pellets. Or do a trick like stick a bunch of pellets in front of him in his bowl. Another thing that would help him and his diet is to buy nutriberries. They look like balls of seed but they are coated with nutrients. They are so healthy they call it bird food but i only give Feather about 4 a day along with regular seed because she would be bored without her seed. So if you type in nutriberries online you would find them. Or you can find them in petshops. Actually my quakers ate regular cockatiel seed mix since they are only a bit bigger. Theres a few seed mixes out that dont have that much sunflower and saffflower in it and that would help him to go after the pellets maybe. Again nutriberries would help so greatly in his diet. I kept ordering a seed mix online that all of a sudden i cant find online so i buy the regular store kind at the grocery store that i actually like because it has the same pellets in it and hardly any sunflower in it. Well Feather is really cute. She likes to hiss like a snake. She likes to come out and fly to me. IF you go to the videos and type in "My 14 year old cockatiel" or go to page 3 i believe its on you could see her in action.
