IT'S A MISERABLE LITTLE MISS LUCY
Hi Pretty Sunny,
Happy New Year to you and your wonderful Mama! Thank you for flying by my page to check up on me. I really appreciate your concern.

Well, I've been wearing my big up-side-down Elizabethean (I can hardly say that BIG word!) collar for 1 whole week now, but it only feels like 3 years! And I have at least another week to go. It makes me so miserable, but thanks for asking! I'd really like to bite who ever designed this torture chamber. I can't scratch myself, can't hold my food in my little foot, can't preen, can't even get my head in a bowl! Can't do anything! Have I made you feel sufficiently sorry for me yet? Good, because I feel sorry for myself! Sometimes I just sit and stare off into space, resting my little neck.

I'm sorry that I'm such lousy company these days, but you'd be, too, if you were confined in this neck trap. Mommy says it's because I bit holes in my skin and I had to be saved from myself. I have to take all this yucky medicine, too, but at least I open my beaky for Mommy and take it like a good girl. The one good thing Mommy says is that I've been eating like crazy. Well, there's nothing else to do! She and Daddy hand-feed me a lot. I'm getting even more spoiled than I was before!

Actually Mommy has me set up pretty nicely in my "doggie" carrier. She has it all padded with a thick, cloth diaper (the old fashioned kind). Over that she puts paper towels which she changes a lot, just like a baby. My snuggle hut is in there, too. Since I can't get inside of it wearing this contraption, I sit on top of it...it flattens out nicely when I stand on it. She also put a snuggly in there next to my snuggle hut, and I lean up against it. So I'm cozy when I sleep or nap.

During the day, I have some shredding toys that I like to chew on...since I just want to rip things to shreds in my frustration. I don't chew on wood, but I love paper and wicker balls, especailly wicker balls with paper inside of them. Mommy holds me alot and scratches my little head cuz it itches. She's trying to figure out how to preen all my new feathers that have started growing in, too. There are hundreds of them, and she's not at all successful. I don't like it either. She's not a bird and doesn't know the first thing about preening.

I guess that's about all there is to tell right now. Only time will tell if I continue to pluck when that collar comes off. But if I do, I'm sure it will be put right back on. The main thing is to get my skin healed up and prevent me from making more holes in it. She says that I could get an infection and become very sick. I sure don't want that to happen. Please thank your Mommy for all the prayers she's been saying for me, would you please, pretty Sunny? I really appreciate your concern. Hugs and Kisses, Little Lucy♥
