Hi Max
Of course, I remember you although it has been a long time. Thanks for your kind words. I am able to shareh some good news for a change today, although Mom had a tough week last week. As you probably heard she has to go in for another surgery to clean out an infection in her breast, but on Wednesday her body decided to get a jump on things and the abcess ruptured. She "leaked" off and on for the next three days, but it has finally stopped. The infection is much smaller now, which she figures means the procedure will be even easier. Those antibiotics work wonders!
Then Dad has completed his first chemo regimen. He stayed overnight at USC Wednesday; they gave him one series of chemo that afternoon and another the next morning. This double approach has been found to work really well as a pre-surgery method. He has had no side effects so far. Even though today (day 4)is supposed to be the worst post-chemo day, he is thinking about mowing the lawn (in stages). He has not had any nausea, and he is even planning for his hair falling out...he is going to have Mom shave his head and keep a goatee. They think it just might be a good look for him. Sounds kinda spooky to me, but then he and I have a love/hate relationship anyway.
I am doing really well, although when Mom was gone all that time on Wednesday I was pretty worried by the time she came home. She spent lots of time with me though, so I was fine by bed time.
Thanks again for all your prayers and good wishes. I am sure they have helped Mom, Dad and I get thru this difficult time. We are doing great, and I know your positive thoughts have helped.
