Thank you so much for the vote! here’s one for you. I’m hoping to make it to 1,700 votes before April, do you think that I can do it? I’m pretty sure I can... we’ll see!

Mama bought me new toys today! But I think that they’re scary right now, so she’s going to help me get used to them. One is a bell that hangs on the side of the cage, and if I pull on the chains, it dings. She thinks I’ll love that one. And she also got me a ladder, which has crushed shells along the bars so that I will get calcium from it and also wear my toenails down.

• Most birds eggs are cared for by their mothers, but in the Rhea family, the father is in charge. He sometimes takes care of up to 60 eggs, all from different mothers in one nest.
• Hummingbirds (family Trochilidon) requires at least half their own body weight in food (mainly nectar and tiny insects) every single day.

Wow! A bird taking care of 60 eggs, sometimes from other mothers, all by himself? He must be busy! That’s cool that hummingbirds eat half their body weight in one day. That’s a lot! I wonder what it would be like to eat that much? I’m a pretty little bird, so it’s not that much though!!

Back to when Mama was in the pet store... she went into the aviary (how could she resist??) and saw a Senegal (like my Daddy Kiddo!!!) and a Jenday Conure. She said that the Conure’s name was Cliffy (I think) and the Senegal was Snickers. Anyway, Cliffy was so funny. He kept climbing up and down the cage... looking at mom... then climbing up and down again!! Really cute, but he was $700 :( Too bad! She didn’t check how much the Senegal was, but she knew that it was probably too much. She also saw the budgies, and they were only about $20. Maybe someday I’ll get a fibling, but probably not because Mama doesn’t want to have to introduce us and all of that. Plus she would have to quarantine him and everything. Hm. Well, anyway, thank you again for helping me with votes! Only 4 more days of campaigning left :)
