Aloha Samson :)
Mahalo for the fly-by and warm wishes for Nani Too. She needed kokua from her Kaukas (Doctors) at Med Center For Birds, but now back in our hale, under loving care with our makuahine. 3 medicines a day are no fun for mom or Nani. Her water and food intake are monitored, daily weight checked; BUT she is getting better every day! Nani had a coelomic ovulation which resulted in yolk formation entering her body. This causes pain, swelling of pancreas and intestines -kelohe! Bad! Now she must lose weight (estrogen stores in fat) and become less of a love sponge/velcro bird because it was keeping her in estrogen overdrive. This is the very thing that prolongs them 'looking for love' during breeding season and egg binding, ectopic ovulation, etc can occur. We can, in essence, 'love them to death'. As smart a bird mom as MY mom, this she did not know. Here's a V4U! More 'ha?i mo?olelo' (talk story) about our lucky forever homes in different post. I la maika'i! (Have a good day!) :>
