Heya, Beaker!
Oh, gosh and golly gee...we had a little problem getting the game info out to everyone last night. With many apologies for the snafu, I have to say this:
POIS POUNCE ON KEETS
The Kevlar Keets played host to the Pois N Dem for today’s game. Defense dominated the 1st inning as both teams went 3 up 3 down. In the 2nd, Pois Comet hit a triple and scored when Coco hit a triple as the Keet offense was denied again. In the 3rd, Pois Hal opened the inning with a double. Nippy then hit a triple as Ginger, Leah and Ollie all hit doubles. Kaji then hit a single as Hulk hit a double to net 5 runs for the Pois. The Keets finally got on the score board when Baby Birdman hit a double and scored when Duty hit a HR. The 4th saw just 3 singles by Sam, Willie and Little Peep and no runs. In the 5th, Pois Nippy was left stranded on 3rd base as the Pois returned the favor for Spirit Cloude and Baby Birdman. In the 6th, the Keet defense held the Pois hitless as Ms Ronnie and Lattie Jr hit triples and Spirit Cloud and Emily Rose hit doubles to make the score 6-5 Pois. In the 7th, Comet, Gizmo and Hal hit triples, Coco and Nippy hit doubles and Sam hit a single to make the score 11-5. The Keets came right back as Duty hit a solo HR into right field. Then Jazzy, Ms Ronnie and Willie loaded the bases. Lattie Jr and Spirit Cloud also hit singles as the Keets scored 3 runs and left the inning with bases loaded. In the 8th, Calico hit a triple and scored when Kaji hit a single. Beaker followed with a single but was left on the bases with Kaji. Duty and Sergio also hit singles but could not round the bases. With the score 12-8, the Pois opened the 9th inning with a single by Coco. Gizmo and Sam then hit doubles and Hal hit a single to make the score 14-8. Keet Little Peep hit a double to try and start the Keet comeback but the rally fizzled. Final score: Pois N Dem 14, Kevlar Keets 8.
WE WON!!! And everyone contributed so much, I know Coach Calico would agree: We are so very proud of each and every one of you! This is the best team, win or lose (we prefer win, right?) cuz everyone plays with 110% of themselves!
