• MEMORY VERSE OF THE DAY
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. -- Psalm 27:14

"This Day In History"
((>July 18<)) Year 1793: Charlotte Corday assassinates Marat
Charlotte Corday, a royalist during the French Revolution, stabbed Jean-Paul Marat to death as he took a bath on this day in 1793. Marat was one of the more outspoken leaders of the revolution. His criticism of those in power was one of the reasons the revolution took a bloody turn in 1792. For her part, Corday was the daughter of a French aristocrat who had fallen on hard times during the revolution. She regarded Marat as evil and plotted his death. After gaining an audience with Marat, Corday pulled a knife from her bodice and stabbed him in the chest. Marat was soaking in a bath because he suffered from a skin disease.

WITH LOVE from Your Budgie Buddy :)
