Hi Cookie!
I knew you would understand my mom's plight with school. This "advanced third grade class" was created a week before school started after my skin brother was already given the name of his third grade teacher he thought he was gonna have. Then a week before school started, the principal called Mom and stroked her ego telling her that her son did so well in second grade that he has an opportunity to be in this "special" third grade class that will be "working closely with the 4th grade" I don't even think this poor 4th grade teacher knew what was happening fully. I also don't think they have a clue what is going to happen to these 6 kids next year. My skin brother finished 2nd grade working with 3 digit numbers in math and came home with 7 digit homework in third grade on the first day! Mom feels like she's home schooling this year. She is working closely with his teacher who is doing her best making up modifications to her teaching plans as she goes along. The teacher was just as blindsided as Mom but Mom knows this teacher from a previous year and believes she is doing her best to find a happy medium. Then with all the trouble mom is having with the 1st grader, she doesn't have the time to deal with the 3rd grade situation as much as needed. Fortunately, the 3rd grader is holding steady with A's and B's. There is definitely a maturity issue with the first grader and because he behaves so well and is socially ok, he has been neglected by the school as he quietly fails. Add that up with a hormonally charged 7th grader with an attitude and it's a real party! Boy, I should be paying you for a therapy session right now. (Sorry about that.) Anyway, since I have the feather's and the brains in the family, maybe I'll start doing homework too:) Speaking of smart birds, Casper (the grey) is helping the puppy potty train. Mom was in the bathroom when she heard Casper say: "You want to go potty?" After Mom heard him say this a couple times, she realized why and ran out of the bathroom to find the puppy jumping on the door trying to go out and she got him outside just in time! Isn't that the greatest! Mom thinks so. Never underestimate us parrots. Have a great day Cookie and next time we talk, I promise not to vent to you about mom's school issues. V4U! Love Sweetpea.
