¶’> In the top of the 4th inning …
Maybe the case o’ nerves that the players have been runnin’ on since the start of the game is startin’ to settle out a bit. Da Pois Hulk starts off with a Single this time. Macaws Catcher Rio is “on the ball” if you will with a Pop Fly caught behind the plate for the first Out for Da Pois this inning. Ollie, however (being no respecter of precedent, apparently) steps into the pitch and *KNoCKs* it out of the Park scoring 2 for his team. Next batter hits it high and directly into the waiting glove of Macaws SecondBaseBird Reba for Out no. 2. Sam hits a nice little double, but being miffed by missing the throw to tag Sam out at 2nd, Macaw FirstBaseBird Malachite catches the fly off the next hitter for the 3rd Out.
First up to bat for the Macaws this time, Jasper smacks it hard enough to make 3rd base. Still running on the energy of the last two outs for Da Pois in the top of this inning, Malachite pours it all into the hit for a Home Run to add 2 to the Macaws side of the scoreboard. Reba’s caught up in it now too and gets herself a Triple too. But there’s such a thing as TOO eggscited and the next batter puts a little too much English on it to give Pois CenterFielder Sam the easy catch on the Fly Out. Marley’s calm demeanor is enough to get things back on track with a Single that plates Reba. But these Macaws are havin’ a really hard time being consistent today, Fans! A nice hit turns into a nice Out when it lands in Pois LeftFielder Hal’s mitt. Although Rio tries to get a rhythm going, his Single is followed by the 3rd Fly Out to end the inning.

Score After Four Innings: Da Pois ‘N’ Dem 14 – Mighty Macaws 9

In the top of the 5th inning …

Macaw Pitcher Ruby finally settles out enough to send the first batter back to the dugout on a Strike Out. The next batter is determined to not let the team go down like that. The swing is hard! But the Macaws are on the ball in the outfield too and this time it’s ThirdBaseBird Ducky backing up to snag the Fly ball right Out of the air! Co-Captain Kaji finesses a Double to get something going for his team this inning. But the next batter hits it along the Ground right into the waiting mitt of Macaw ShortFielder Jasper for the 3rd Out.
Macaws Captain Jake starts the team off with a Single knowing the “One/Two Punch” he and Co-Captain RaneBeau can put together … and DO when RaneBeau *S*M*A*C*K*S* a Home Run to score the both of them. Jasper takes the Single and waits through the first Ground Out fielded at 3rd base by Pois Co-Captain Kaji. Reba’s Single puts 2 Macaws on base when another Ground Out a Strike Out ends the inning, leaving them stranded.

Score After Five Innings: Da Pois ‘N’ Dem 14 – Mighty Macaws 11.
