Hi and thanks from Zak
Oct 16th… What a day! Mom dropped us all off at the stadium to watch the baseball game, and what a game it was. Our flock was cheering for the macaws, but we do have 3 of them on the team. Tomorrow is another day. Mom and Dad have a lot of house business going on, with people coming to see it and there are actually offers coming in now, so the fun is starting, with the possibility of a bidding war as of tomorrow. With all that, Gizmo had a night fright last night but after spending most of the rest of the night with Mom (she fell asleep on Mom who did not fall back asleep), she was her usual self come morning.
And now… more about the Speedo…
Controversial Technology:
Beginning with Arne Borg's record breaking introduction of the racerback suit in 1932, Speedo has utilized the latest technologies available and — more recently — has been an industry leader in fabric technology innovations. Swim records were broken in Speedo brand silk suits in the 1930s, and the company was the first to introduce the use of nylon in the 1950s[8] and later nylon/elastane in the 1970s. Speedo's most recent technological advances are found in the Fastskin, Fastskin FS II series and the LZR Racer suit. Throughout the company's history, though, it seemed each design innovation was met with great controversy. Clare Dennis was nearly disqualified from her record-breaking Olympic meet because her suit showed too much skin; early Speedo bikinis were banned from some Australian beaches; more recently, the NASA technology in the LZR Racer suit Michael Phelps wore at the Beijing Olympics was the subject of great media scrutiny.
