Jessica Pineda is the senior associate editor of BirdChannel.com, BIRD TALK Annual, Ponds USA, Rabbits USA, Aquarium USA, Coral & Reef USA and Marine Fish & Reef USA. She has been an avid bird enthusiast for more than 20 years, since her childhood days of watching her babysitter’s cockatiels go about their lives. Pineda has extensive experience working in the pet retail industry, first with Petco, where she became a PIJAC-certified bird specialist for its Tracy and Northridge, Calif., stores, and then for Omar’s Exotic Birds in Studio City, Calif. She joined BIRD TALK Magazine and BirdChannel.com as the assistant editor in 2007. Pineda has a degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from California State University, Northridge.
