Meet Tango

This month, I am going to introduce you to one of our Sanctuary birds. She is a Catalina Macaw named Tango. Tango is going to tell you a little about herself.
Hi everybody! My name is Tango, and I came to Arcadia 3 years ago. I live in a building with about 10 other macaws. We each have our own huge cage and I have good neighbors: a green-wing macaw named Tattoo, and a scarlet macaw named Nicholas. Caitlyn’s grandma is the only one who I let hold me, but when I get in the mood, I let Caitlyn preen me, and I even let her pet me. If you’re wondering why I am here at Arcadia, well, I’ll tell you why.
My previous owner injured me badly. I was lucky that someone he knows got me out of there and I made it to the sanctuary.
I really like it here. I am with all sorts of other macaws and people who love me and care for me! I also get to go out when Terri and Caitlyn go to libraries, schools or other places. I am a great preener, and that helps to show people how all birds are waterproof. I am happy I will have a great place to live for the rest of my life.
Thanks for reading all about me. Maybe I can get Caitlyn to write about some of my other friends in the sanctuary.
Well, that’s Tango for you! Two birds down, only about … oh I don’t know, 100 to go!! We’ll see who is up next time! Write in to request a bird type and I will let you know if we have that kind. That bird might be in my next blog. Ha!
