Well, I just sent my mom a Mother's Day e-card. I went with the one of Zeus dutifully cleaning up while his person reclines on the couch for a much needed rest. (Her significant other, and Zeus's perceived rival, somehow ended up in the trash; no doubt Zeus had something to do with it!) My mom has never been into birds but appreciates them simply because she knows I do. She's done her fair share of bird-sitting for me over the years and has even allowed me bring my birds over when I've stayed a weekend. That's a mother's love for you ... putting up with screeches that make the neighbor call to ask, "Is everything all right over there?" and biting her lip when her daughter walks past with her two parrots and a bath towel, headed for the shower.
