Tabloid Parrot

My mom’s Birthday is today (Happy Birthday Mom!) and so I’ve had the chance to spend the day with her. After a visit, my mom typically hands off a stack of magazines she’s already read. Often included in this bunch are some guilty pleasures … tabloids.
A story in the “National Enquirer” caught my attention. In between all the gossip and scandals, there was the tender story of Willie the quaker parrot that saved the life of a choking toddler by saying “Mama baby” to get the babysitter’s attention.
This was yet another notch in Willie’s massive media coverage (and I hope to score an exclusive, too!). I love it when a parrot gets the national spotlight, even if it’s sandwiched in between celebrities’ alleged affairs and photo gallery of famous people looking their worst.
