Graduation Day For The August Issue

By Laura Doering
Join in on Laura's fun and experiences of bird ownership, and share in her adventures as the editor of BIRD TALK, the world’s most widely read pet bird magazine, in Wayward Feathers.

Today is I-Proof day. That means a last look through the magazine before it’s sent to the printer. I love holding the I-proof because, after months of planning the issue in my head as a concept, then assigning articles, flowing them into our templates, choosing photos, copyediting on screen, I now have something tangible to hold; it now exists. Please excuse the sentimental sappiness but, to me, it’s a little like sending your baby off to college, “Do us proud on the newsstand.”
