What Frightens Your Bird?

The editors of BIRD TALK magazine are putting together an article on the "Top 10 Things that Frighten Your Bird" that is scheduled to appear in the July 2007 issue.

We would like to know what real or imagined stimulus and/or objects frighten your bird(s). Does the mere site of balloons cause your bird to drop from its perch or does the shadow of a crow flying by the window send your bird into a screaming session?

I think people should be aware of what frightens their birds and how to rectify the problem to make your birds feel comfortable with new things.

1. We have a 4 year old Teal/Blackface Love Bird, and a 4 yrs old & 2 year old Cockatiels.

2. A fire engine or the first aid squad pass our house with the siruns going.

3. They all at once come to the front of the cages and start screening at once. It is too funny. Of if they are in the window they all start screeming and flying around the room.
